“And out of the ground the LORD GOD formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” – Genesis 2:19
I love this verse! Its awesome. It makes me think of my daughter Goldie. She’ll be playing by herself quietly in the corner with a toy, lets say a monster puppet. And then she’ll turn to me and hold it up. And I always say, “What is that bud?” And she will think for a second and furrow her eyebrows and then say something like….”its…its….uhh…. fuzzy finger!”
I can see Adam doing the same thing. Perfectly innocent in the garden, just sitting around looking at birds n trees n sh#%.
Then God thinks, okay lets see how this goes and starts making a giraffe and puts it in front of Adam like “Okayyyy lets see what he names this thing….”
And Adam looking at it and looking at God and then looking back at it and saying……..
“Ummmm…..thats a Pleebis.”
And then God tries not to laugh as he makes the next animal, like an octopus or something, and puts it in front of him.
“How about this one bud….”
“That. Um…… that right there…. is….a…… squishy bush. Yeah. Its called a squishy bush.”
I’d love to get a list of those original animal names.
